In addition to being a prime sponsor of A500, the most comprehensive reform of housing law that New Jersey has seen enacted into law in the past three decades, she is prime sponsor of A3447, which was passed by the Assembly on December 13, 2010. The measure abolishes the Council on Affordable Housing and enacts significant new reforms to promote affordable housing. The bill was the result of countless hours expended with builders, not-for-profits and developers, environmentalists and every interested stakeholder. While not a perfect solution, the measure has received widespread praise and Assemblywoman Jasey's efforts as a facilitator and consensus builder played a huge rule in achieving passage of the bill, which awaits further action by the Governor. Mila also fought for the non-residential developer fee moratorium to spur the building of mixed-use affordable housing.
