Senator Rubio Comments On September Unemployment Report

Statement

Date: Oct. 7, 2011

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio issued the following statement regarding today's release of the September unemployment report:

"Today's jobs report is yet another sign that our economy continues to struggle because Washington is standing in its way. Next week, we'll take an important step towards job creation when Congress votes on the free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea, but the economy needs much more than this.

"Job creators need lasting certainty that will only come from serious pro-growth tax reform, stopping unnecessary regulations that are paralyzing growth, and a clear plan to deal with our debt by cutting spending. The President's jobs plan is not a serious plan, and I suspect that's exactly why Senate Democrats want to avoid voting on it at all costs."
