Today the House will be voting on HR 2005, the Combating Autism Reauthorization Act, sponsored by Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ). This important legislation will "renew the nation's programs for autism early detection, surveillance, research, education, awareness and treatment." You can read more about the bill at Rep. Smith's website.

Also up for a vote today will be the Veterans Health Care Facilities Capital Improvement Act (HR 2646), authored by Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH). Congressman Johnson explains his legislation here.

In keeping with the House Republican fall and winter job creation agenda, later this week the House will take up Congressman John Sullivan's (R-OK) Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation (TRAIN) Act (HR 2401). Following last week's passage of my bill, the Protecting Jobs From Government Interference Act, the House continues to move forward and take action to create jobs.

Finally, the House will vote on a new Concurrent Resolution which will fund the government through November 18th of this year.
