Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement regarding the start of Rosh Hashanah. This year, Rosh Hashanah will begin on Wednesday, September 28 at sundown:

"Brooklyn is a diverse borough with a strong and vibrant Jewish population, whose contributions are immeasurable. In observance, many families throughout the community and around the world will pause to reflect, pray, repent, count their blessings, and celebrate new beginnings.

"As they usher in the New Year, I would like to wish the residents of the 11th Congressional District and throughout Brooklyn L'Shanah Tovah."
