Reflections on 9-11

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2011
Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18) released the following statement in recognition and reflection of the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks:

"On the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks, we come together in solemn reflection. We honor the memory of the lives of friends and loved ones lost. We give thanks for all those who selflessly gave of themselves in our nation's moment of need.

"On this day we also consider what we've learned from this terrible tragedy. We've learned there is no doubt in the courageousness of the American spirit, the resilience of our people, and the determination of our nation to rise from the ashes and rebuild. We've not allowed actions born out of hatred to breed more hatred. We are stronger, united, more resolute, patriotic, and faithful to each other, our country, and our God. Today we rededicate ourselves to the ideals that gave us the strength to not just persevere, but to come together and grow.

God Bless America."
