Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement marking the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:
"Like millions of Americans, I remember where I was when I learned of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. As that day passed, we watched the horrific acts of violence and evil unfold in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, but that's not all. We were introduced to an untold number of American heroes, many of whom gave their lives saving the lives of others. And we learned that the innocent victims of the attacks were friends and neighbors, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, people simply going about their daily lives. We will never forget them. We will never forget the heroes of 9/11. And we will never forget the men and women, servicemembers and civilians--including many Arkansans--who have dedicated their lives to defending our nation against our enemies. Let us reaffirm our commitment to protect and defend the precious freedom and liberty we enjoy in the United States. May we remember the past but look to the future. May God continue to bless America."
