Montana's Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement on the ruling by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals that declared the individual mandate to purchase health insurance in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act unconstitutional.
"It's no surprise another court found President Obama's Health Care Law unconstitutional. It was the wrong approach to health care reform and wrong for the American people, and it apparently violates the Constitution.
"There's too much uncertainty with this bill to waste any more of the taxpayers' hard-earned money. America is deep in debt, and Obamacare is a dry hole, which means we need to stop digging.
"As Chairman of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, I have pushed to defund this bill, and the majority of my House colleagues agreed. Now the courts are telling us that the millions of dollars being spent today on implementing Obamacare may be money down the drain. That's why I will not fund any aspects of Obamacare through the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education Appropriations bill until the United States Supreme Court issues a ruling on the law. Enough is enough. We can no longer continue to dump taxpayer dollars into a flawed program."
