Issue Position

I strongly believe in the sanctity of life and that unborn children at any stage of development are granted the right to life. I have served as my church's representative to Michigan Right to Life for 10 years, and my family has worked with various crisis centers throughout the 2nd District. My commitment to life will continue as I serve in Congress and I will be a tireless voice for unborn children working to ensure that these precious lives are protected.

I have recently joined the Bipartisan Congressional Pro-Life Caucus and the Congressional Prayer Caucus. I also voted for the amendments in H.R. 1, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2011 that eliminated or limited taxpayer dollars funding abortions, including the "Pence Amendment" to defund Planned Parenthood. In addition, I have cosponsored H.R. 3, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and the H.R. 358, the Protect Life Act, both of which help to protect the lives of unborn children.

We have a moral obligation to protect the voiceless and defenseless unborn.
