SHELBY ANNOUNCES OVER $1.8 MILLION FOR HUNTSVILLE SOUTHERN BYPASS

WASHINGTON, D. C. --- U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Treasury, and General Government, announced today that the Department of Transportation will be releasing $1,802,634 for the Huntsville Southern Bypass. As Chairman of the Subcommittee, Senator Shelby secured these funds in the fiscal year 2004 appropriations process.

Sen. Shelby said, "These funds will assist with the first phase of the development of a bypass from I-565 to Memorial Parkway in Huntsville. I am pleased that these funds are now being released so construction of this important artery may begin."
