New Fuel Efficiency Standards Announced

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow made the following statement today regarding President Obama's announcement of new vehicle fuel efficiency standards through 2025.

"As we work to create a better environment in which to create jobs in Michigan, the long-term certainty this agreement provides is critical. We need to transform Michigan's economy. Growing our advanced battery industry and creating other new technologies related to fuel efficiency is a huge part of that. These new technologies will not only create jobs, they will greatly reduce pain at the pump for drivers and decrease our dependence on Middle East oil."

Earlier this month, the Senate Energy Committee passed Senator Stabenow's Advanced Vehicle Technology Act. This legislation would ensure American manufacturers and suppliers lead that way in developing the next generation of advanced vehicles.
