I support an "all of the above" comprehensive strategy for meeting our nation's energy needs, end our dependence on foreign oil, and reduce the price of gasoline. We must do more of everything including harnessing domestic fossil fuels, expanding renewable energy sources, and the use of nuclear power and clean coal. Providing incentives for the production of solar, wind and geothermal energy sources are also a key component of a comprehensive energy strategy. I support the expansion of offshore drilling and increased oil production as a part of a comprehensive energy strategy, but feel very strongly that the rights of states and their residents must also have a say in the process. Offshore drilling and exploration has many positive potential economic advantages, but those living closest to offshore fossil fuel reserves should also have a say in deciding if leasing will be conducted off their shores.
