Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) released the following statement after voting for the Better Use of Light Bulbs (BULB) Act, ending the government-ordered ban on traditional incandescent lighting enacted in 2007.
"By nature, Americans do not like being told what to do. It goes against who we are and the freedoms we enjoy in this country. I've understood this through the objections of my constituents to the massive healthcare overhaul passed by a liberal Congress and their outrage over the BULB Act. Government has no place in tiny household decisions such as this and I have hundreds of letters and phone calls from people across the fourth district who agree."
"Whether it be repealing regulations in the workplace or in your home, I am committed to shrinking the size and influence of government for every American."
