Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) today released the following statement after voting for the Cut, Cap and Balance Act, which would reduce federal spending by more than $110 billion in fiscal year 2012. The legislation was approved by a 234-190 vote:

"With our national debt approaching a staggering $15 trillion -- higher than at any time in American history -- we need to dramatically cut non-essential federal spending. Washington has three problems: spending, too much spending and way too much spending. At the rate we're going, interest on the national debt and spending on entitlements will surpass all federal revenues within 25 years, jeopardizing the futures of our children and their children. The Cut, Cap and Balance Act will force Washington to live within its means, just like American families have to do."
