Price: "The President Ought to Answer the Call of Leadership."

House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to President Obama's press conference yesterday.

"Despite what President Obama may say, his Administration and his Democrat allies in Congress have shown an appalling lack of leadership when it comes to the most pressing issues of our time," said Chairman Price. "They have been unwilling to bring forth concrete proposals of their own that would actually contribute in a positive way to the debate over how we get America moving again. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has passed several pieces of legislation that would help spur job creation, address the pain caused by higher gas prices, and encourage innovation. We have taken action to remove the regulatory burdens imposed by this Administration, to reform the tax code so that American entrepreneurs can compete, and to instill confidence in our economy. House Republicans have passed a budget that addresses the drivers of our debt and makes the necessary reforms to save and protect health and retirement programs while putting us on a path to a more prosperous future. Rather than continuing to demagogue the good faith efforts of House Republicans, the President ought to answer the call of leadership."
