Congressman Asks Constituents to Participate
Congressman Tim Scott (SC-01) today announced his 'July is Jobs' initiative, placing his focus squarely on job creation and encouraging constituents to share their ideas for job creation and improving the nation's economy. Throughout July, the Congressman will be focusing on four areas crucial to creating jobs: tax reform, simplifying our regulatory environment, lowering our national debt and supporting domestic and alternative sources of energy.
Scott will be using social media daily to interact with residents of the First District specifically regarding job creation, and encourages constituents to reply on Facebook, Twitter, and through his website with their own ideas for how to stimulate the economy. At the end of the month, Scott will, with permission from the sender(s), present some of their ideas on the floor of the House of Representatives during a special Leadership Hour, after which they will be published in the official Congressional Record.
Rep. Scott will also be traveling throughout the district during July, talking with constituents and speaking at local organizations to share both the Republican plan for job creation and his own thoughts on how to stimulate the low country economy. Dates and times for these events will be released as they become available.
"I am excited to start our July is Jobs initiative, and encourage everyone in the district to participate," Scott said. "The President's agenda is not working. We knew it wouldn't work. Federal spending never grows the economy. We have a plan that will work: reduce spending, cut taxes and remove bureaucratic red tape to allow our local businesses to innovate and grow."
