Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today met with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Craig Fugate and discussed the status of Governor Mitch Daniels' request for federal assistance to aid southern Indiana counties affected by severe storms and flooding.
"I appreciated the opportunity to sit down with Administrator Fugate, and I am confident that he understands how recent severe weather in southern Indiana has adversely affected many homes and businesses," said Coats, Ranking Member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. "I asked FEMA to respond to the Governor's request promptly. While affected communities have already begun rebuilding their homes and lives, this disaster relief would provide much-needed financial assistance."
