Congressman Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) issued the following statement on Afghanistan:
"For nearly 10 years, our brave men and women in uniform have selflessly served in Afghanistan to combat the threat of terror both at home and abroad. I thank all of our Armed Forces and their families for the sacrifices they've made for America. This has been a long war and no American wants to see it continue any longer than necessary.
"Following the death of Osama Bin Laden, it is important to evaluate our role in Afghanistan and the goals of our mission. I am pleased we will begin bringing some of our troops home and sincerely hope that the day is near when all of our troops may return. Determining the way forward will not be easy and is not a decision to be taken lightly. I encourage President Obama to carefully listen to the advice of the Generals on the ground, in order to determine America's course of action in Afghanistan."
