"I had a very good meeting with General Petraeus. He is a proven leader with a unique perspective and wealth of experience that has served our nation well. In our meeting, we discussed the ongoing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. relationship with Pakistan, and recent events in the Middle East. We discussed how he will approach the role and responsibility of intelligence gathering as well as the need to focus the agency's resources on existing and emerging threats including cybersecurity. I continue to be impressed by General Petraeus's depth of understanding and willingness to serve in a public capacity. I look forward to his confirmation hearing."
