U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) praised Arkansas' recipients of the All- American Teacher of the Year Award for their commitment and dedication to their students and the teaching profession.
Marsha Hudson, a literature teacher at Rogers High School; Brian Leonard, an AP calculus and AP statistics teacher at Lake Hamilton High School; and Jason Walker, an AP biology teacher at Russellville High School received the award during ceremonies in Washington today.
"I am proud of Marsha, Brian and Jason's efforts and accomplishments. In today's rapidly changing economy, it is more important than ever to have enthusiastic and engaging teachers in the classroom who inspire our next generation of leaders," Boozman said.
The All-American Teacher of the Year recognizes outstanding math, science and English teachers in the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) Advanced Placement Training and Incentive Program.
"These teachers have demonstrated a total commitment to their students' academic growth," said Tom Luce, CEO of NMSI. "Their efforts will help more of our nation's young people succeed in school, work and life."
