Statement on Prime Minister Netanyahu's Speech to the Joint Session

Statement

It was an honor and a privilege to listen to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu address a joint session of Congress earlier today. Israel has long been one of our nation's closest allies in a very instable and contentious region. I commend Prime Minister Netanyahu for his gracious and respectable remarks.

Since 2009, President Obama has shaped a foreign policy in the Middle East that is disjointed and disconnected. In response to President Obama's statements last Thursday, I have started drafting an amendment that would block the White House from negotiating a peace treaty with the Palestinians based in whole or in part on imposing Israel's pre-1967 borders.
