On September 11, 2001 our world changed forever at the hands of evil terrorists determined to destroy the fabric of American life. For nearly ten years now our country has stood resolved and persistent in our effort to secure justice for the thousands of innocent lives lost. Last night Americans rejoiced at the news that the mastermind behind the terror had finally met the might of the American military face to face. Osama Bin Laden is dead.
I applaud the strength and diligence of our intelligence and military communities. They have brought justice to the victims and families of 9/11 and to our grateful country. I also commend the leadership of our President as Commander in Chief in this effort.
As we stand together proud that justice has been served, we remember our brave American service men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting the war on terror.
While our world today is a safer place with the death of Bin Laden, we will never forget the events of September 11th and will remain resolute in our mission to combat those who seek America harm.
God Bless America.
