U.S. Representative Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ-02) today announced that the Borough of Clayton was awarded a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to be used to improve two wells and construct a permanent interconnection with neighboring Borough of Glassboro.
"I am pleased Clayton will receive this federal funding for the critical improvements needed for the borough's well water system. Clean water is essential for protecting public health and reducing the spread of diseases in our communities," said LoBiondo. "USDA has been a great partner with many communities in South Jersey throughout the years to upgrade public infrastructure and today's announcement is proof of the positive results that can be achieved."
An additional $620,000 in a 40 year, low interest rate loan was also approved by the USDA for the project.
