U.S. Representative Mike McIntyre, Co-Chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, joined many of his colleagues and members of the public on Capitol Hill today to participate in the National Day of Prayer.
Representative McIntyre urged citizens to pray for our country and in particular for the legislatures, executive, and judicial branches of government, as well as for our men and women serving in the military.

"The power of prayer knows no bounds. The true source of power is not found in the halls of Congress, the Oval Office of the West Wing, or the chambers of the Supreme Court, but rather it is found on our knees before the Throne of Grace of Almighty God," stated Representative McIntyre.

He invited citizens, prayer groups, churches, synagogues, and other religious organizations to go to www.PrayUSA.com and join others across the nation in praying on a regular basis for our communities, states, and country.
As Co-Chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, McIntyre is helping state legislatures organize prayer caucuses. He also serves as Co-Chairman of the Congressional Prayer Breakfast that meets weekly on Capitol Hill.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
