Stay Informed and Share Your Opinion

Statement

Rising gas prices, reviving our economy, passing a federal budget, natural disasters and three wars abroad are just a few of the issues that are facing Congress right now. With so much going on, it can be difficult to keep up with the news, which is why I am committed to providing constituents with resources to stay informed and share opinions with me on the issues that matter most to you and your family.

My weekly email newsletter recaps critical policy debates in Washington, D.C., upcoming radio interviews, events around the Fourth District and more. The e-newsletter ensures that you receive timely information from my office in an easy-to-read format. If you would like to subscribe to my e-mail list, visit http://GeoffDavis.house.gov/Contact/EmailSignup.htm.

When you sign up for my e-newsletter, you will also receive periodic email updates on breaking news, events, and invitations to participate in new surveys on my website. Surveys are a quick and easy way for folks to communicate their thoughts. Most surveys take less than two minutes of your time, but help me to better know your opinion so that I can best represent you in Washington. To take my new survey on rising gas prices please visit: http://www.geoffdavis.house.gov/survey.

To get updates from Washington and around the district in real time as they happen, you can now follow me as @RepGeoffDavis on Twitter or sign up to receive mobile updates on your phone. Even if you do not have a Twitter account, you can visit http://twitter.com/RepGeoffDavis to see my latest posts.

Telephone town hall meetings are another way of having a conversation with Fourth District residents to discuss issues before Congress from the comfort of your home. On these free calls, you have the opportunity to ask me questions, share your opinion on an issue or just listen to the conversation. If you would like to participate in an upcoming telephone town hall meeting, please visit http://GeoffDavis.house.gov/TTH. By signing up, you will receive an e-mail reminder telling you the anticipated start time and date of the next call, and then a phone call inviting you to participate when the telephone town hall begins.

Your input and opinions are not only important for me to know, but I often get some of the best ideas from constituents. For example, a meeting with a constituent in 2009 spurred research and development that eventually became the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, a bill to require an up or down vote in Congress on any new major regulation before it can take effect. The REINS Act was included in the House Republican Pledge to America and is one of Speaker Boehner's top priorities.

The REINS Act now has a Facebook page where you can get the latest news about the bill, follow it through the legislative process, and share your opinion. Visit http://www.facebook.com/REINSAct.

I encourage you to keep in touch by visiting or calling one of my offices in Kentucky or Washington, D.C. or send me an e-mail by visiting http://GeoffDavis.house.gov/Contact. No matter how you choose to communicate, the most important thing is to stay informed and to make your voice heard. I am listening to you.
