Today, TIME announced that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) has been selected to its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Bachmann said of her inclusion on the list:

"I am humbled to learn of my selection and grateful to be named among such a variety of notable people affecting our world. My inclusion on this list is a reflection of the growing voice of everyday Americans who desire to preserve and further the liberty on which our great country was founded. Our nation is at a crossroads and I hope to use my influence to continue the fight for fiscal freedom and the conservative values that have made the United States a beacon to the world."

The TIME 100 list, now in its eighth year, recognizes the activism, innovation and achievement of the world's most influential individuals.
