Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) today made the following statement after General Electric Company (GE) announced plans to open an Information Security Technology Center focused on cyber security that will create 200 new jobs in Henrico:
"Virginia continues to lead the way by encouraging the type of private sector job growth we need across the country to get more people back to work. As a global business leader, GE will be a welcome addition to Innsbrook and I thank them for the confidence they have placed in our community. The cyber security industry is critically important and will continue to create jobs and stimulate future economic growth in the Commonwealth.
"The pro-business environment in Virginia is what continues to attract new companies and helps existing business owners grow and expand. My efforts in Washington are focused squarely on fostering an environment that will encourage long-term economic growth and job creation through common sense, pro-growth policies. It is essential that we provide job creators, small and large, with a renewed sense of certainty so that they can innovate, compete and create new jobs here at home."
