Congressman Fitzpatrick today joined with local municipal and county officials to announce the renewal of the state Enterprise Zone status for a segment of former industrial sites along the Delaware River in Bensalem Township, Bristol Township, Bristol Borough, Falls Township, Morrisville Borough and Tullytown Borough. Today's announcement also added Penndel Borough to the Enterprise Zone. The designation will assist these local governments in the formation of public-private partnerships within the Enterprise Zone that will encourage increased manufacturing facilities and job creation.
"It is important that government do all that it can to encourage the creation of jobs in Bucks County," said Fitzpatrick. "Enterprise Zone status will help this area that used to be filled with manufacturing facilities to once again provide family-sustaining manufacturing jobs. Government at all levels and the private sector need to partner together to provide the incentives and support for local job creation."
Enterprise Zones are designed to address deteriorated industrial and manufacturing areas. The purpose of the program is to improve the standard of living within a community by revitalizing these areas, attracting new businesses, and creating jobs. In addition to loans and low interest grants, Enterprise Zones are eligible for priority consideration for other grants and loans from the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
