Schrader Opposes Efforts to Privatize Medicare in Ryan Budget

Congressman Kurt Schrader released the following statement announcing his opposition to the GOP budget as proposed by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan:

"I have consistently opposed efforts to privatize vital programs like Medicare and Social Security," said Schrader. "We have to work together to address our long-term fiscal problems but I will not compromise the livelihoods of Oregon seniors. We need to have a serious conversation about our fiscal situation: including real defense spending reductions, tax reform for working class Americans, and protecting our entitlement programs from the massive cuts that will occur if we do nothing."
