Woodall Issues Statement on Senate Passage of 1099 Repeal Bill

On Tuesday, April 05, 2011, the Senate sent H.R. 4, a piece of Pledge to America legislation that would repeal the crushing and unfair 1099 tax reporting provisions, to the President for signature. Congressman Rob Woodall (R-GA), a co-sponsor of the bill, issued the following statement:

"The 1099 reporting requirements in ObamaCare do more than just place an undue burden on American taxpayers: it disincentivizes private sector growth in a time when our nation needs it the most. I am proud to see that the folks on the other side of the Capitol Building agree with the House's stance on this pressing issue. A recent National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Small Business Survey determined that tax paperwork, costing $74 an hour, is the most expensive burden placed on small businesses by the federal government. I will continue to work with my colleagues in the House to peel back the layers of ObamaCare, and start simplifying the lives of American citizensand businesses."
