Stutzman Finds Savings While Maintaining Aviation Safety

Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) voted in favor of saving billions for the American Taxpayer while maintaining the highest level of aviation safety by reauthorizing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through FY 2014 while setting funding at FY 2008 levels. Compared to the current funding levels there will be approximately $4 billion in savings. The spending cuts will not negatively impact aviation safety and will result in increased efficiencies and significant savings.

"I am encouraged by the House passage of the FAA Reauthorization." Stutzman stated, "The Republicans in the House are taking a active and positive role in changing the way Washington does business. I am happy that there is progress being made towards fiscal responsibility but this is only the beginning and we must be serious about cutting spending. This proves that solutions can be found in even the most critical functions of our federal government."
