Congressman Steve Scalise today released the following statement after the Senate voted to repeal the 1099 reporting provision in Obamacare. The House voted to repeal the requirement in early March.

"One of the many job-killing provisions of Obamacare is the 1099 mandate, and I am proud to be a cosponsor of this bill to repeal what has been referred to as a "paperwork nightmare' by our local employers in a way that fixes the problem while also reducing the deficit," Scalise said. "Repealing the job-killing 1099 reporting mandate in Obamacare is an essential step on the path to repealing the entire health care law and replacing it with real reforms. Republicans in the House have already taken numerous steps to repeal and defund the unconstitutional government takeover of health care and replace it with real reforms that lower the cost and actually address the problems in health care without the unconstitutional mandates and taxes in the current law, and I will continue fighting until we are successful."
