Senator John Ensign, a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, today spoke at a hearing touting the benefits of his Travel Promotion Act, which was signed into law last year, to aid the tourism industry to help in our nation's economic recovery. Senator Ensign also addressed the visa issues that many individuals face when trying to travel to the United States at the Commerce hearing today.
Excerpt from Senator Ensign's remarks:
"The simplest, biggest issue right now has to do with the visa issue and streamlining that process...The more that we can have foreign travelers coming to the United States, improves our relations with people all over the world. When people come here, they see opportunities to invest and bring dollars to the United States; not only with what they spend in tourism dollars, but also what they spend in investment dollars comes to the United States."
