U.S. Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) tonight released the following statement regarding the status of U.S. operations now that U.S., British and French air forces dominate the skies in Libya:
"I remain very concerned about the implications of U.S. military involvement in Libya. While I support the actions of the United Nations Security Council and the Arab League to impose a no-fly zone over Libya and the call to Colonel Gadhafi to cease violence against his own people, like many of my constituents, I am very concerned about what U.S. military action could lead to, especially while our armed forces continue to be engaged in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"I believe that the President must be crystal clear about our mission in Libya. Any confusion about our objectives could easily result in complication of that mission."
