Mr. President, Before Gas Prices Hit $4 per Gallon Let's Pass "All-of-the-Above" Energy Reform

Statement

Location: Washington, DC

House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement regarding the continued spike in energy prices.

"As the rise in gas prices threatens American jobs and hurts family budgets, the Obama Administration continues to stall the exploration of American-made energy," said Chairman Price. "No doubt, the turmoil in the Middle East has had an impact on the recent spikes in energy prices, but the fact of the matter remains that this administration's recklessly imposed barriers to American oil and natural gas undermines our economy and encourages our dependence on foreign imports. The production of current energy resources is being stymied while jobs and revenues are shifted overseas to foreign companies and nations. The irresponsible policies and inaction by this administration only act to burden an already struggling job market and economy. Considering today's fiscal crisis, the White House should join Republicans in developing an "all-of-the-above' energy plan which would encourage conservation, incentivize future innovation, and responsibly utilize existing U.S. resources."
