Representative Sandy Adams (FL-24) released the following statement today urging President Obama to consider an "all of the above" policy on energy.
"As political turmoil in the Middle East continues and gas prices rapidly increase, it is becoming abundantly clear the current administration's energy policies are inadequate. Instead of utilizing our nation's vast domestic energy resources, President Obama's policies force Americans to rely on foreign entities for our nation's energy supply. By imposing arbitrary, and in one case illegal, barriers to American oil and natural gas production, the President is forcing American jobs overseas and putting additional financial burdens on an already struggling economy.
"Instead of supporting a cap and trade national energy tax, new regulatory burdens on American energy producers, and an illegal moratorium on oil and natural gas leases in the Gulf, President Obama should join House Republicans in support of an "all of the above' energy plan. This plan should include nuclear, solar, hydro, wind, alternative energies, and oil and natural gas exploration. By giving American companies and entrepreneurs the tools to invest in our nation's energy future, Congress can help provide more affordable energy to struggling families, create new jobs and reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources."
