Gowdy Takes First Step in Repeal of Obamacare

Statement

Date: Jan. 7, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

Today Congressman Gowdy (SC-04) issued the following statement on his vote to pass H. Res. 26, the first procedural step in the process to repeal Obamacare.

"Today's vote represents our willingness to listen to the message sent by the American people in November. Obamacare embodied the failed policies and politics of bigger, more expensive government and severely hinders economic growth and job creation. Repealing this legislation is an important first step in restoring fiscal discipline in Washington and limiting the size and scope of government to its constitutional boundaries."
