Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Congressman Jason Altmire (PA-04) welcomed the U.S. International Trade Commission's (USITC) affirmative ruling that TMK IPSCO and other domestic steel manufacturers are being threatened with material injury by heavily subsidized drill pipe and drill collar imports from China. In January, Congressman Altmire testified before the USITC to support American steel producers' petition for relief from these unfairly traded imports. As a result of the USITC's ruling today, the U.S. Department of Commerce will now impose antidumping and countervailing duties on Chinese drill pipe and drill collar imports.

"With its affirmative ruling today, the U.S. International Trade Commission has once again made it clear that China's unfair trade practices will not be tolerated," Congressman Altmire said. "America's steel manufacturers are the world's finest, and they deserve to have the opportunity to compete fairly in the global economy."
