House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (R-GA) issued the following statement after President Obama delivered a speech on energy today.
"The president talks about how we should spend more on our nation's energy future but in the meantime his administration is imposing limits on access to American-made energy," said Chairman Price. "Rather than focus its attention on having Washington pick winners and losers, the White House should join Republicans in moving an "all-we-can-create' energy package that will utilize existing U.S. resources, spur future energy innovations, and encourage conservation. Furthermore, in light of the irresponsible actions of the President and his allies in Congress that have amassed an unsustainable level of debt, Democrats should switch gears and work with Republicans to start budgeting in a responsible manner across the board. Cutting spending and increasing economic opportunities are the American people's priorities and will continue to be the focus of Republican efforts."
