Rising health care costs are straining family budgets and business bottom lines. 31 million Americans are uninsured. We need health care reform that reduces cost, improves patient care, and offers access to every American.
We should create a basic coverage plan offered to everyone, with assistance to those who cannot otherwise afford it. We must shift our emphasis from acute care toward prevention and healthy living, practicing evidence-based medicine, and putting technological and administrative standards in place that can reduce the staggering overhead costs in our current system.
