Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Urbana) today offered the following comments on the 2011 March for Life in Washington D.C.:
For the past 38 years, millions of Americans have marched on Washington, committing their time, talent and treasure in valiant defense of God's sacred gift of life. I was honored and humbled to speak in front of hundreds of thousands of them on the National Mall today at the March for Life.
The passion and commitment of those supporting the Pro-Life cause is woven into the very fabric of our nation. In their wisdom, the Founders listed the Right to Life first among our unalienable God-given rights. Today, we are still tasked with upholding the Founders' vision for a culture of life in America.
Polly and I attended our first March for Life twenty years ago, and each year grow more optimistic about the progress we are making. In Congress, I will continue leading the fight to defend life and honor the idea that all Life is a sacred, precious gift from God.
