"I am grateful to have the opportunity to travel to Haiti as we observe this week the one-year anniversary of last January's devastating earthquake.

"There is no question that the last year has presented its share of challenges for the people of Haiti but it is also important to recognize how far Haiti has come in the past twelve months. Having last visited Haiti six months ago, I am looking forward to seeing firsthand the progress made and assessing the challenges that remain."
