Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement on the U.S. House of Representatives vote to repeal federal health care legislation:

"I applaud today's House vote to repeal Obamacare, which if left in place stands to cost Texans $27 billion over 10 years starting in 2014, and I strongly urge the Senate to join in the rejection of this overreaching and harmful legislation. I'm hopeful this represents the first step toward a renewed and honest debate on real heath care reform in America."
