U.S. Rep. Justin Amash (MI-03) issued the following statement regarding the tragic shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-08), staff members, a federal judge, and other victims this afternoon in Tucson, Arizona:

"The senseless shooting of Congresswoman Giffords and others is a tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with Congresswoman Giffords, her family, and the families of those killed and injured."
