Statement From Congressman Randy Hultgren Upon Being Sworn Into The United States Congress

Statement

Date: Jan. 6, 2011
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14) released the following statement today upon being sworn in as a member of the 112th Congress.

"I have always believed that public service is a sacred trust, and today I took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and to represent the people of the 14th District of Illinois. It is the honor and a privilege of a lifetime to do so, and one I take very seriously. I know that while I am their duly elected representative in Washington, DC, it is ultimately their seat; it is incredibly humbling to have so many hundreds of thousands of bosses from every walk of life. I look forward to listening to all of them, and to being held accountable by them for the actions I take on their behalf in our nation's capital."

Hultgren celebrated his swearing in with family and friends from across the 14th District. Hultgren also cast his first votes as an elected representative today.
