Rep. Bilirakis Statement on Trillion Dollar Omnibus Spending Bill

Statement

Date: Dec. 16, 2010
Issues: Transportation

Rep. Gus Bilirakis (FL-09) issued the following statement after Senate Democrats released their 1,924-page 2011 spending bill that will cost $1.1 trillion and contains more than 6,000 earmarks.

"This pork-laden bill is stuffed with more earmarks and big-government spending at a time when we can least afford it," Bilirakis said. "President Obama himself said the country can't afford these earmarks and the American people voted in November to end this spending binge, so now it's time for the President to step up and veto this bill if it passes Congress."
