Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said the following today regarding the announcement that Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., would be the next chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry:
"Debbie Stabenow will bring knowledge, energy and determination to her new role as chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry. Agriculture is a vital part of Michigan's diverse economy, and since coming to the Senate, Sen. Stabenow has been a strong advocate for policies that would recognize the diversity of agriculture in Michigan and across the country."
