Issue Position

Our nation is currently mired in the greatest economic crisis we've seen since the Great Depression. Unemployment continues to rise and hundreds of thousands are still at risk of losing their homes. Silicon Valley has, unfortunately, not escaped this crisis. Locally, we've seen countless layoffs, plummeting home values, and a significant drop in funding for local startups and businesses.

As Congress and the Obama Administration address this economic crisis, I will continue to turn to my constituents for their stories and counsel. I'm confident that we can turn this crisis into an opportunity by investing in our national infrastructure and in our emerging green economy. It's not going to be an easy journey. It took years of neglect and greed to get us here and it will take time to get us out. But, it's a journey that we as Americans have successfully made before and can make again.
