Jimmy is a strong advocate of effective law enforcement to keep our students safe from drugs and violence at school. He voted for the funding of the DARE program which teaches children/young people to stay away from drugs. He works with law enforcement agencies to combat gang activity. He is a supporter of resource officers in the schools. Sheriff Leon Lott gives credit to Jimmy for the sheriff's substation located on the Lower Richland High School campus and for the substation to be built this year on Screaming Eagle Road. The LR substation has reduced the response time to calls by citizens and has reduced the number of crimes in the lower Richland area.
