New Clinic Will Eliminate the Long Drives to Health Care Facilities for Many of Northern Michigan's Veterans
U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) today announced that a site has officially been selected for the new VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Cadillac. The clinic will be located at 1909 N. Mitchell Street, Cadillac, MI 49601. The new VA clinic will ease the burden of veterans in Cadillac and the surrounding area who regularly make long and often difficult trips to VA hospitals in other parts of the state to receive basic medical services. Stabenow worked with veterans and community leaders to secure the Cadillac VA clinic, and other VA clinics across the state, to strengthen veterans' access to health care.
"This new site is a victory for Cadillac-area veterans and their families," said Stabenow. "Too many of our veterans face long drives to clinics, which prevents them from getting the quality health care services they need. This clinic helps ensure our country keeps its promise to our veterans, who deserve nothing less than our unwavering support."
"As Commander of American Legion Post 94, this is a wonderful thing for area veterans," said Commander Jay Richley. "It has been very difficult and hard on our veterans to drive long distances to receive health care. We really appreciate Senator Stabenow stepping forward for our veterans to get this clinic in Cadillac."
The contract was awarded by the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs.
