Congressman Zack Space (OH-18) hosted U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack on Tuesday at Zane State to discuss plans and job training for Turning Point Solar, the country's largest solar farm, which will bring more than 300 jobs to Muskingum County.
300 more jobs will be coming to Ohio in the form of two manufacturing plants to build the solar panels and tracking devices here in America for Turning Point Solar and other solar farms across the country.
"This entire project is a major victory for our region," said Space. "These are 600 good-paying jobs -- and our colleges like Zane State are going to be part of the process of providing our workers the training they need for these jobs."
"This project is going to be an economic engine for our region. It's not just the hundreds of jobs that come in with these plants -- it's the additional jobs for the companies and businesses that supply these plants, in one form or another."
"This is a major project that is going to have long-lasting benefits for our region."
